The company has developed 12 types of machines in collaboration with the Central Silk Board of India, which can handle different functions like reeling, twisting, spinning and weaving silk yarn. This venture has significantly increased the quality of life for silk workers, especially women.

The innovation by Resham Sutra has helped improve efficiency, which in turn has increased the income of the artisans. Electric-powered machines may be rendered inconsistent due to frequent power cuts in small towns—since Resham Sutra is powered by solar energy, high power consumption and periodic blackouts are of the least concern. These machines are constantly upgraded and improved based on user feedback from silk workers.

The green startup has been functional in 14 states across India, including a manufacturing facility in Delhi. Its three major objectives are:
